People who are unable to service a start-up loan large enough to finance suitable housing can obtain an establishment grant.

Description

You can apply for a grant to establish a home if you are in a poor financial situation and require assistance finding modest, suitable housing. The scheme is means-tested. In special cases, the grant can also be used for refinancing in order to keep your home, often in combination with a start-up loan.

Target Group

• People who are physically disabled
• Refugees
• Socially disadvantaged persons.

Criteria

The home should be modest, both in terms of size and cost. Furthermore, the accommodation must be suitable for anyone with a disability.

Guidance - how to obtain or receive the service

You can send an electronic application (see the link below) or fill out form HB 7.S.13. The form can be obtained from the municipality or at the link below.

Case Processing

The municipality will obtain the information necessary for making a decision on the case. We will then come to a decision. You will normally receive an explanation together with the notification of the decision. You will always receive an explanation if there is a possibility that you will be dissatisfied with the decision. If an explanation is not included, you can obtain one by enquiring with the municipality within the deadline for appeals to the decision.

Processing Time

The municipality will process the case as soon as possible. If a decision cannot be reached on the case within one month, you will receive a written message stating the reason as to why. You will also be informed of when the decision is expected to be made.

Right to Appeal

If you are dissatisfied with the decision, you can submit an appeal within three weeks from the date on which you received it. Explain what you are dissatisfied with and why you believe the decision should be changed. Provide justification for this with additional information, if necessary. The municipal appeals board serves as the administrative appeal body.
